Brenda Jewell-Swartz - CEO, President & Licensed Agent

Brenda Jewell-Swartz has 30+ years’ experience in the property/casualty insurance field, and extensive knowledge regarding insurance needs of dentists, oral surgeons, physicians, and non-profit organizations.

Brenda began her insurance career in Wausau, Wisconsin, in 1986, where she developed, evaluated and managed numerous property/casualty insurance programs for ten years. Brenda joined MedPro in 1996, where she was managing general agent until 2001. She marketed professional liability insurance products to physicians, health care facilities and dentists.

In 1998, Brenda relocated to Hartford, CT to develop the New England territory, Brenda was instrumental in securing the endorsement of the Connecticut State Dental Association (CSDA) in 1999 for MedPro.

Brenda joined an agency in 2001, bringing with her the endorsed program for the Connecticut State Dental Association, currently underwritten by Fortress Insurance Company. Brenda coordinated growth and enhancements to the dental program and was instrumental securing the agency’s appointment by OMS National Insurance Company as their exclusive agent for oral surgeons in CT, NJ and southern NY.

Brenda opened Jewell Professional Insurance in 2010 and currently maintains the endorsed program for the CSDA.  JPI is a full-service insurance agency that serves clients across the country.

Brenda serves as a board member for the Connecticut Dental Association Foundation and serves as a volunteer at the CT Mission of Mercy (CTMOM) free dental clinic. An avid reader, proud mom, grandmother and owner of three adorable Yorkshire Terriers, Brenda is married and resides with her husband Peter in Berlin, CT.

 

Amber F. Boggus, MBA - Chief Operating Officer & Executive Vice President

Amber F. Boggus obtained her undergraduate degrees from Edgewood College in Madison, Wisconsin.  She has B.S. degrees in: Marketing, Management and Graphic Design. Amber went on to earn her M.B.A in Entrepreneurial Thinking and Innovative Practices from Bay Path University in Longmeadow, Massachusetts, where she also teaches adjunct in the subjects of Financial Wellness and Marketing. Amber spent 15 years in corporate marketing, healthcare and consulting. Amber’s currently developing sustainability strategies focused on continued growth of our agency.  Her focus is a comprehensive approach to our client’s insurance needs through continuous operational efficiency and listening to the voice of our consumer.

Amber is proud to be married to a Veteran of the United States Marine Corps, and the Mother of an amazing son and human being.

Lindsay Jackson - Vice President, Commercial Insurance & Licensed Agent

Lindsay Jackson is the Vice President, Commercial Insurance & Licensed Agent at Jewell Professional Insurance. Lindsay has 14 years of insurance experience and specializes in Business Owners, Workers Compensation, Commercial Auto and Personal Lines Insurance.

Lindsay started her career in 2000 at InsuranceNoodle, a division of Willis North America in Chicago and worked there for 14 years handling all new business for the Midwest region. Lindsay consulted with insurance agents providing insight to the best products and coverage’s for their client’s needs. Lindsay reviewed each account at a detailed level becoming an expert in commercial and personal underwriting knowledge.

Lindsay's responsibilities at JPI consist of policy rating, preparing, and reviewing coverage proposals to make sure all clients are receiving the best coverage at an affordable premium.

Cole Slominski - Account Representative & Licensed Agent

Cole joined Jewell Professional Insurance in 2017, bringing ten years of operational management experience with various organizations, with a strong focus on customer service. Cole also served in the United States Army (National Guard and Reserve) for 15 years. He deployed twice to Kuwait and Afghanistan in support of the Global War on Terror. He became a licensed insurance agent in 2018 and will focus on building commercial relationships within the Northeast and Midwest, along with being a main point of contact for our Dentists and Oral Surgeons.

In his free time, Cole volunteers at his local food bank and can always be counted on for a good laugh! He is married to his wife Aastha and they have a golden retriever named Zoey.

Joseph Schoenborn, BA - Customer Service Supervisor

Joseph Schoenborn is the Customer Service Supervisor at Jewell Professional Insurance. Joseph has 10 years’ experience in customer service and specializes in problem solving and customer satisfaction. Joseph holds his Bachelor of Fine Arts Degree from the Savannah College of Art & Design.  In 2012, he became a Coffee Master and Barista Champion, furthering his product knowledge and becoming a resource for his coworkers and customers. Joseph started professional and medical customer service when he began working for Prime Communications, a medical answering service, in 2017. Joseph’s responsibilities at JPI consist of supervising day-to-day office workflow, client communications, expediting client data-handling, and renewal scheduling.

Lamar Ross - Customer Service Specialist.

Lamar Ross is the Customer Service Specialist for at Jewell Professional Insurance. Lamar has over 10 years of customer service experience, and ensures that quality and service exceed customer expectations on a daily basis, always with an eye toward opportunities for improving. Lamar oversees customer inquiries from initial client contact through the resolution of the issue to the client’s satisfaction.

Prior to joining JPI, Lamar had many customer service positions, including Operations Assistant at Simsbury Bank and IP Generalist at Open Solutions.

Lamar’s responsibilities at JPI consist of maximizing customer performance by providing help desk resources and technical advice, resolving problems, identifying customer service trends, determining system improvements, and implementing change.

Lamar is a hospital volunteer, a dedicated family member and enjoys karaoke and piano.
